Kubereswar Dham Festival Forces AB Road Detour, Adding 80 km to Indore‑Bhopal Journeys

A religious gathering at Kubereswar Dham in Sehore led authorities to divert traffic on the Indore‑Bhopal AB Road, forcing commuters to travel an extra 80 kilometres.
The Kubereswar Dham shrine in Sehore hosted a large-scale religious event that attracted thousands of devotees from across Madhya Pradesh. Organisers set up temporary facilities and processions that extended onto the surrounding road network.
In response, the state transport department issued a diversion order for vehicles traveling between Indore and Bhopal on the AB Road, the main arterial highway. The alternate route added roughly 80 kilometres to the usual journey, extending travel time by two to three hours.
Passengers on buses and private cars reported congestion at the diversion points and expressed frustration over the unexpected mileage. Officials said the detour was necessary to ensure safety of pilgrims and to prevent gridlock near the shrine.
Rail services between Indore and Bhopal also experienced minor delays as some trains were temporarily halted to accommodate the influx of worshippers near the station area. The department assured that normal traffic flow would resume once the event concludes.
