The Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited has scheduled power shutdowns in several districts of Kashmir for maintenance work, impacting residential and commercial consumers.
Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) issued a notice indicating that planned power outages will be carried out in multiple parts of the Kashmir valley. The shutdowns are slated for maintenance and infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving the reliability of the electricity supply.
The notice, published on the KPDCL website, lists the affected districts but does not specify exact timings for each area. Consumers have been advised to make necessary arrangements and to conserve electricity during the outage periods.
KPDCL officials have emphasized that the scheduled cuts are essential to carry out essential repairs and to prevent unplanned disruptions in the future. They have also assured that the duration of each shutdown will be kept to a minimum.
Local authorities are coordinating with the utility to ensure that critical services such as hospitals and emergency response units receive uninterrupted power supply through backup arrangements.
The announcement comes as the region continues to grapple with power supply challenges, and the scheduled maintenance is expected to bolster grid stability in the long term.
