Notices have been issued to 30 wayside eateries in Kochi following a joint inspection that revealed unhygienic conditions. Two establishments were ordered to cease operations immediately.
Authorities in Kochi have taken stringent action against roadside food vendors after a recent inspection uncovered significant hygiene concerns. The district Health department, in collaboration with the Kochi Corporation and the Food Safety department, conducted a joint drive across the city.
During the inspection, a total of 30 wayside eateries were found to be operating under unsatisfactory sanitary conditions. As a direct consequence of these findings, notices have been formally issued to these establishments, mandating them to rectify the identified issues.
Further reinforcing the enforcement measures, two of the inspected outlets were deemed to be in such poor condition that they were ordered to shut down immediately. This action highlights the authorities' commitment to ensuring food safety standards for the public.
