Knife Attack on Youth in Damoh Over Money Dispute Leaves Man Hospitalised

On Saturday night, more than ten young men assaulted 28‑year‑old Satyam Viskarma in Jatashankar Colony, Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, using knives. Police say the violence erupted after Viskarma declined to hand over cash that the attackers demanded, prompting them to repeatedly stab his legs before fleeing the scene. The victim was rushed to the district hospital where doctors are treating multiple leg injuries. Authorities have filed a criminal case and launched a search for the suspects. The incident has heightened concerns about mob violence linked to monetary disputes in the region, officials added.
