Knauf India, in partnership with education NGO Pratham, inaugurated a new training academy in Vijayawada aimed at enhancing vocational skills for local youth.
Knauf India, a leading building materials manufacturer, opened a dedicated training academy in Vijayawada today, marking a joint effort with the non‑governmental organization Pratham to expand skill‑building opportunities in the region.
The facility is designed to offer short‑term, industry‑relevant courses that equip young people with practical abilities in areas such as construction, manufacturing and related trades. By focusing on hands‑on learning, the academy aims to bridge the gap between formal education and employer needs.
Company representatives highlighted Knauf India's long‑standing commitment to community development and said the partnership with Pratham reflects a shared vision of empowering the local workforce. Pratham officials noted that the academy will complement their existing literacy and numeracy programs by adding vocational training pathways.
Local authorities welcomed the initiative, emphasizing its potential to generate employment and support the economic growth of Andhra Pradesh's growing industrial corridor.
