The engine manufacturer posted a 19% decline in net profit for the quarter, recording Rs 132 crore, while its operating margin narrowed.
Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd (KOEL), a leading diesel engine maker, announced its latest quarterly results, showing a 19 per cent drop in net profit compared with the same period last year. The company posted a net profit of Rs 132 crore, down from Rs 163 crore a year earlier. Revenue growth was modest and operating expenses rose, leading to a contraction in the operating margin. Analysts attributed the slowdown to weaker demand in key industrial segments and higher input costs, noting that the firm may need to focus on cost optimisation and new product launches to restore profitability. Management said the order book remains strong and the firm is pursuing strategic initiatives, including expanding its presence in the renewable‑energy‑driven power generation market.
