Kid Cudi to Write, Direct and Star in Upcoming Film

Cleveland native and internationally known rapper Kid Cudi has revealed plans to take on three major roles in his forthcoming feature film: writer, director and lead actor. The announcement marks the first time the artist has publicly committed to a full‑scale filmmaking project.

Cudi, who has previously made cameo appearances in a handful of movies, said the new venture will allow him to explore storytelling from a fresh perspective. While details about the plot, cast and release schedule remain undisclosed, industry insiders note that the project is already in pre‑production.

The move comes as part of a broader trend of musicians expanding into film, and it has generated buzz among both music and film communities. Fans of Cudi’s music are eager to see how his artistic vision translates to the silver screen.

No official release date has been announced, but the artist’s team confirmed that the film will be shot in the United States, with a focus on authentic storytelling. The project is expected to be a significant addition to Cudi’s creative portfolio.

Industry analysts predict that Cudi’s involvement in all three key creative roles could set a new standard for artist‑led projects in Hollywood.
