Residents of Khachariyawas have lodged allegations of a ₹1,000 crore fraud involving VLTD schemes in Rajasthan, prompting calls for investigation.

Khachariyawas, a village in Rajasthan, has become the centre of a controversy after locals alleged a massive fraud worth around ₹1,000 crore linked to a VLTD (Village Level Talent Development) scheme. The complainants claim that funds earmarked for community development were siphoned off through fictitious projects and irregular approvals.

According to the allegations, the scheme, which was intended to promote local talent and infrastructure, saw large sums transferred to shell entities without proper documentation. Villagers say they have approached the district administration seeking a formal inquiry and the recovery of the misappropriated money.

State officials have not yet issued an official statement, but the Rajasthan police have reportedly registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on the complaints. The investigation is expected to examine the flow of funds, the identities of the beneficiaries, and any possible collusion with local officials.

If proven true, the case could represent one of the largest financial irregularities in the state's rural development programmes, raising concerns about oversight mechanisms and the transparency of grant allocations.

The matter is being closely watched by anti-corruption watchdogs and local media, who have called for swift action to protect public resources and restore confidence in government schemes.
