Kerala police continued their large‑scale anti‑narcotics campaign, Operation Toofan, on Tuesday, detaining another 69 individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and consumption. The latest round of arrests brings the cumulative tally of drug‑related cases in the state to over 10,000 since the operation began earlier this year.
The seizures were carried out across multiple districts, with officials reporting that the suspects were intercepted during routine checks, raids on suspected hideouts, and intelligence‑driven operations. State Home Minister Pinarayi Vijayan praised the police effort, stating that the numbers reflect a sustained commitment to curb the growing menace of narcotics in Kerala.
