A Kerala-based vlogger was arrested after comments on a beef-serving café sparked controversy, prompting the BJP to condemn the state government's handling of the issue.

Police in Kerala registered a case against a popular social media vlogger after he posted remarks about a café that serves beef, a subject that has been politically sensitive in the state. The vlogger was taken into custody under sections related to hurting religious sentiments and spreading misinformation, according to officials.

The incident has drawn sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party, which accused the state government of failing to protect free speech and of politicising the beef controversy. Party leaders demanded that the authorities drop the charges and allow open debate on the issue.

Kerala's law enforcement agencies, however, maintain that the vlogger's comments crossed legal boundaries and could incite communal tension. The case is currently under investigation, and the vlogger remains in police custody pending further proceedings.
