Kerala Marks 70th Anniversary of State Formation

Kerala marked 70 years since its formation on 1 November 1956 with a series of flag‑hoisting ceremonies and cultural programmes across the state. The Chief Minister addressed the crowd, highlighting the state’s achievements in literacy, health and social welfare over the past seven decades. State officials and community leaders gathered in the capital, Thiruvananthapuram, to commemorate the milestone with speeches, music and a display of the state flag. The celebrations also included a retrospective exhibition showcasing photographs and documents from the early years of the state. The event underscored Kerala’s journey from a newly formed state to a model of development in India.
