Kartikeya Singh Chauhan, the son of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, has been elected unopposed as the president of the Madhya Pradesh Volleyball Association. The election, held in Bhopal, confers a ten‑year term that will run until 2030.
In his inaugural address, Chauhan announced that a draft of a new sports policy aimed at accelerating volleyball development across the state will be released shortly. The policy is expected to address infrastructure, talent scouting and coaching standards.
Stakeholders, including state coaches and club officials, welcomed the appointment, noting that a clear, long‑term leadership could provide stability and attract greater investment in the sport at the grassroots level.
The association, which oversees state‑level tournaments and talent pipelines, hopes the new administration will raise Madhya Pradesh’s profile in national volleyball competitions.
