The Karnataka government has introduced a new integrated mobility application that allows residents to book bus tickets via WhatsApp, aiming to simplify public transport booking.
The state has rolled out an integrated mobility app that consolidates bus schedules, ticket booking and real‑time travel information. Users can now purchase tickets directly through the app or via a dedicated WhatsApp number, eliminating the need to visit ticket counters.
The WhatsApp interface sends a simple message to the official number, after which the user receives a ticket link and payment instructions. The service is designed to reduce queues and improve accessibility for commuters across Karnataka.
Transport officials say the launch is part of a broader digitalisation drive to modernise public transport and encourage usage of electronic payment methods.
Future plans include extending the platform to include auto-rickshaws, shared taxis and possibly rail services, creating a one‑stop hub for all state transport needs.
