Karnataka has received the most funding from the central government's Electronics Development Fund, with investments of over Rs 854.5 crore. The state has emerged as the top beneficiary of the fund, accounting for nearly two-thirds of total investments.
The Electronics Development Fund, managed by Canbank Venture Capital Fund, has invested over Rs 1,335 crore in 128 companies. Karnataka-based firms have secured the largest share of these investments, with a total of Rs 854.5 crore. This represents a significant proportion of the total investments made by the fund, highlighting the state's growing importance in the electronics sector. The fund's investments are now in the divestment phase, marking a new stage in the development of the electronics industry in India. Other states, including Telangana, Maharashtra, and Delhi, have also seen significant investments in technology startups.
