Karnataka to Revise Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, Introduce Home Verification for Beneficiaries

The state’s Gruha Lakshmi scheme, which provides financial assistance for building or renovating homes for low‑income families, has been updated with new eligibility criteria and revised subsidy amounts. In a bid to curb misuse, the government will now carry out home verification for every beneficiary before disbursing funds. Officials said the verification process will begin next month and will involve on‑site inspections by local authorities. The move aims to improve transparency and ensure that the benefits reach the intended recipients.
