Karnataka has announced a hike in the Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate fees, which will take effect on 15 August 2024.
The increase applies to all categories of vehicles that require a PUC, including two‑wheelers, passenger cars and diesel‑powered vehicles. The transport department has stated that the revised fee structure will be published on the official state portal and through local vehicle registration offices.
Vehicle owners are advised to check the updated rates before renewing their certificates to avoid any penalties. The change is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to curb vehicular pollution and improve air quality in urban areas.
