The Karnataka Cabinet will meet in Mangaluru today to review the draft coastal tourism policy. The policy aims to promote sustainable tourism along the state’s coastline.
The Karnataka Cabinet is set to convene in Mangaluru this morning to deliberate on the proposed coastal tourism policy. Officials will present the draft that outlines plans for tourism infrastructure, eco‑friendly initiatives and community participation along the 320‑km coastline.
The meeting will allow ministers to examine the policy’s provisions and ask questions about its implementation. Representatives from the Tourism, Forest and Urban Development departments are expected to attend and provide technical details.
If the policy receives approval, it will serve as a framework for future projects and regulations designed to boost tourism while protecting marine and coastal ecosystems.
Various stakeholders, including local residents, business owners and environmental groups, have been invited to submit their feedback before the final version of the policy is framed.
