The state has begun direct bank transfers to deposit the delayed August and September Grihalakshmi scheme funds of ₹2,000 to millions of women beneficiaries.

Karnataka has initiated the release of pending ₹2,000 payments under the Grihalakshmi scheme after technical glitches delayed disbursements for August and September.

The delay affected lakhs of women across the state, and officials said that from today the amount will be transferred directly to their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Authorities attributed the hold‑up to technical reasons and emphasized that the expedited process will ensure timely receipt of the welfare amount, reinforcing the government’s commitment to financial inclusion.

The Grihalakshmi scheme, launched by the Karnataka government, provides a monthly cash assistance of ₹2,000 to women from economically weaker sections to improve household financial security.
