The state announced a revamp of Revenue Transfer Certificates, aiming to provide clearer land ownership records and reduce disputes.
The Karnataka government has unveiled a comprehensive overhaul of the Revenue Transfer Certificate (RTC) framework, a move intended to bring greater certainty to land ownership across the state. Officials said the new system will digitise existing records, streamline verification processes and create a single‑window portal for landholders to access their documents.
Under the revised scheme, RTCs will be issued based on updated cadastral surveys and integrated with the state's land‑records database. The government expects the changes to cut down on title disputes, curb fraudulent transfers and accelerate property transactions.
State Revenue Minister K. Shivananda Kumar highlighted that the reform will benefit farmers, investors and urban owners alike, emphasizing that the digitised platform will be accessible through district offices and online portals. The rollout is slated to begin in the next quarter, with pilot projects in Mangalore and Mysore districts.
