The Karnataka Food and Drug Administration has seized counterfeit medicines worth ₹5 crore and cancelled 24 licences in a major crackdown.

In a significant operation against the sale of counterfeit medicines, the Karnataka Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has dismantled a fake drug racket. The agency conducted raids that led to the recovery of spurious pharmaceutical stocks valued at approximately ₹5 crore.

As part of the enforcement action, the FDA has targeted the legal standing of the involved entities. Authorities have cancelled 24 drug licences associated with the racket to prevent further distribution of unsafe medications.

This crackdown highlights the state's efforts to regulate the pharmaceutical supply chain and ensure that substandard or fake drugs do not reach the general public.
