The Karnataka Chief Minister inaugurated a PRC (Public Relations Campaign) to increase voter enrolment across the state, aiming to register more citizens for the upcoming elections.

The Karnataka Chief Minister launched a Public Relations Campaign (PRC) on Monday to boost voter enrolment across the state. The initiative, announced at a press conference in Bengaluru, seeks to register citizens who are yet to be added to the electoral rolls. Officials said the drive will involve outreach teams visiting villages, urban slums and corporate offices to collect biometric data and verify documents. The campaign is expected to add several hundred thousand new voters ahead of the next assembly elections.

The CM emphasized that a larger electorate would strengthen democracy and urged citizens to take advantage of the free registration service. He also highlighted the role of technology in simplifying the enrolment process, noting that biometric verification will reduce duplicate entries.

Election authorities have set a deadline of 30 June for enrolment under the PRC. The state government will monitor the progress through a dedicated dashboard and will provide weekly updates to the public.
