Karnataka CM D.K. Shivakumar inaugurates Dasara celebrations in Udupi and Mangalore
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar visited the Uchchila Mahalakshmi Temple in Udupi for the women’s Dasara and the Koodroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple in Mangalore to launch the 2026 Dasara festivities.
Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar visited the coastal districts of the state today to inaugurate the Dasara celebrations. He attended the women’s Dasara ceremony at the Uchchila Mahalakshmi Temple in Udupi and later proceeded to Mangalore for the city’s Dasara launch at the Koodroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple.
The visits marked the official commencement of the 2026 Dasara festivities in both locations, with the CM participating in traditional rituals and interacting with local devotees.
