Kapil Sharma backs Daler Mehndi amid Uttarakhand performance controversy

Kapil Sharma, a leading comedian and television host, has voiced his support for singer Daler Mehndi after the latter became the subject of criticism for a recent performance in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The performance, which was part of a cultural event, drew backlash from some sections of the public who questioned its appropriateness.

Sharma took to social media to defend Mehndi, stating that the singer’s contribution to Indian music deserves respect and that personal attacks are unwarranted. He urged fans and fellow artists to focus on the artistic value rather than engage in sensational criticism.

The exchange highlights the sensitivity surrounding public performances in regional contexts, especially when high‑profile entertainers are involved. As of now, no further statements have been made by either party, and the controversy remains limited to online commentary.
