A group of 22 former cricketers, including legends Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar, have voiced concern over the medical treatment of Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan, who remains incarcerated.

Former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan, currently detained in a Pakistani jail, has drawn attention from the Indian sporting community after reports raised questions about his medical care.

Former Indian cricket greats Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar, together with a coalition of 22 other retired international cricketers, issued a joint statement urging the Pakistani authorities to ensure that Khan receives appropriate medical attention and transparent treatment.

The cricketers said that humane treatment of a former head of state, irrespective of political differences, is essential and called on the government to allow independent medical assessment.

No official response from the Pakistani government has been recorded as of now; the appeal underscores the cross‑border solidarity among sports personalities.
