The National Highways Authority of India halted toll collection on the Kanpur‑Lucknow Expressway after a 300‑metre section slipped, and has launched disciplinary proceedings against the concessionaire, the independent engineer and monitoring officials.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has suspended toll collection on the Kanpur‑Lucknow Expressway following a 300‑metre slippage in the roadway. The incident occurred near the Kanpur side of the expressway, raising safety concerns for commuters. In response, NHAI has initiated disciplinary action against the concessionaire PNC Infratech Limited, the project’s independent engineer, and officials responsible for construction monitoring and supervision. The authority has demanded a detailed investigation and corrective measures to prevent future incidents.
