The Karnataka Sahitya Parishat has unveiled a new scheme to award an annual incentive grant to young scholars conducting in-depth studies on old manuscripts and endangered Kannada folk arts.

The Karnataka Sahitya Parishat (KSP) announced a new initiative to provide an annual special incentive grant to young researchers focused on the study of old manuscripts and the preservation of disappearing Kannada folk arts. The scheme aims to encourage in-depth academic work in these culturally significant areas.

Under the new plan, eligible scholars will receive financial support that covers research expenses, fieldwork, and publication costs. The grant is specifically designed for early-career academics and graduate students who are undertaking serious research projects related to Kannada literary heritage and folk traditions.

KSP officials highlighted the importance of safeguarding Karnataka’s literary and artistic legacy. By funding research on manuscripts and folk arts, the organization hopes to document and revitalize traditions that are at risk of being lost.

Researchers interested in applying for the grant can submit proposals through the KSP website, where detailed guidelines and eligibility criteria are posted. The first round of awards will be announced later this year.
