Internally displaced persons in Kangpokpi, Manipur, have demanded the release of pending Direct Benefit Transfer funds and issued a five‑day deadline to the state government.

Internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in the Kangpokpi district of Manipur have formally requested the release of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) funds that remain uncredited to their accounts. The group cited delays in the transfer of subsidies meant for livelihood and basic needs.

In a written appeal, the IDPs set a five‑day deadline for the Manipur government to clear the pending amounts. They warned that failure to comply could prompt further protests and demands for immediate action.

The state government has yet to issue a public statement regarding the request. The issue highlights ongoing challenges faced by displaced communities in accessing government assistance during the pandemic and post‑conflict recovery period.
