The Kalyani Group has received regulatory approval to build a private freight terminal at Shivlakha in Gujarat, expanding the state’s logistics capacity.
The Kalyani Group has been granted formal permission by the relevant authorities to develop a private freight terminal at Shivlakha, a town in Gujarat. The clearance follows a detailed project proposal that outlines the terminal’s design, capacity and connectivity to existing rail and road networks.
The terminal is expected to handle bulk cargo such as minerals, agricultural produce and industrial goods, providing a dedicated loading and unloading hub for freight operators. By situating the facility near key transportation corridors, the project aims to reduce turnaround times and lower logistics costs for shippers in the region.
Industry analysts note that the addition of a private terminal could alleviate congestion at existing public yards and stimulate ancillary services such as warehousing and truck maintenance. Kalyani has indicated that construction will commence later this year, with operations slated to begin within two years, subject to standard regulatory compliance.
