Kalon Palden Dhondup, the Central Tibetan Administration’s representative, concluded a two‑state tour of Tibetan diaspora communities in North Sikkim and West Bengal on Tuesday. The visit aimed to strengthen ties and discuss community welfare initiatives.

Kalon Palden Dhondup, a senior official of the Central Tibetan Administration, completed a brief official visit to Tibetan communities in North Sikkim and West Bengal on Tuesday. During the trip, he met with community leaders, local volunteers and cultural groups to review ongoing welfare projects and discuss future cooperation.

The visit, which spanned two days, was part of the Central Tibetan Administration’s outreach program to support the Tibetan diaspora in India. Dhondup highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage and ensuring access to education and healthcare for community members.

In North Sikkim, he toured a community center in the Gyalshing district, where he praised local initiatives that promote Tibetan language and arts. He also attended a small cultural program featuring traditional music and dance.

In West Bengal, Dhondup visited a Tibetan settlement in the Darjeeling district, meeting with residents and local officials. He reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with the diaspora and pledged further assistance in community development projects.
