Jyotiba and Goa Liberation Celebrations to Feature on Kolhapur’s Visarjan Route

Kolhapur municipal authorities confirmed that the upcoming visarjan procession will include a special segment dedicated to the Goa Liberation anniversary alongside the traditional Jyotiba deity float. Organisers said the combined display aims to honour the historic 1961 liberation of Goa while preserving local devotional customs. The route, which typically winds through the city's main thoroughfares before reaching the Krishna River, will see additional decorations and cultural performances linked to both themes.
