Junior doctors at Indore's Maharaja Yashvant Rao Hospital began a strike demanding the implementation of the 'One Nation-One Stipend' scheme, leading to a halt in several services and affecting hundreds of patients.

Junior doctors at the Maharaja Yashvant Rao Hospital in Indore launched a strike on Thursday, citing the government's "One Nation-One Stipend" demand and expressing solidarity with recent protests in Bhopal. The medical staff halted routine duties, urging authorities to address the stipend issue that they say affects junior physicians across the state.

The walkout disrupted outpatient consultations, diagnostic services and elective procedures, leaving hundreds of patients waiting for treatment. Hospital officials reported that emergency care continued, but many non‑critical appointments were postponed, prompting frustration among patients and their families.

Hospital management announced that alternative arrangements, including temporary staffing and redirected patient flow, would be put in place to maintain essential services. The administration appealed to the striking doctors to resume work while negotiations on the stipend policy continue.
