Junior doctors at Darbhanga Medical College Hospital (DMCH) began a strike after a dispute erupted between a doctor and a female relative of a patient. The disagreement quickly escalated, prompting the junior medical staff to walk out of their duties.
The walkout has resulted in the suspension of both outpatient (OPD) and emergency department services. Patients who had traveled from remote parts of Bihar and neighboring states now find themselves unable to receive timely medical care, causing considerable distress.
Hospital administration, led by the principal and the superintendent, is actively negotiating with the striking doctors to restore services. Officials have indicated that efforts are underway to resolve the underlying issue and resume normal operations as soon as possible.
