The Jodhpur‑Indore‑Jodhpur Express will not run from Oct 4 to Oct 11 as double‑track construction between Jharwasa, Bandanwara and Singwal on the Ajmer‑Chanderia line forces cancellation of eight trips.
Railway authorities in Rajasthan have suspended the Jodhpur‑Indore‑Jodhpur Express for a week, from 4 October to 11 October, to accommodate ongoing double‑track (pech‑doubling) work on the Ajmer‑Chanderia section. The construction covers the stretch between Jharwasa, Bandanwara and Singwal in Ajmer district and is part of a broader effort to increase line capacity.
The cancellation affects eight scheduled trips – four in each direction – as the line cannot support regular passenger traffic while the tracks are being upgraded. Passengers have been advised to seek alternative trains or modes of transport for the period.
The rail‑doubling project, aimed at reducing congestion and improving punctuality on this busy corridor, is expected to be completed by the end of the month. Until then, the railway board has warned of further temporary disruptions on nearby services, including a two‑day suspension of a Kacheguda‑origin train.
