The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor has issued new postings for six IAS officers the day before the incoming Chief Secretary is set to take charge.
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir announced new postings for six IAS officers on Thursday, a day before the incoming Chief Secretary is scheduled to assume office. The move comes as part of a broader reshuffle aimed at aligning senior administrative appointments with the new chief secretary’s mandate.
Details of the individual officers and their new assignments have not been disclosed by the administration. The decision was made publicly through a press release issued by the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
Observers note that such pre‑appointment reshuffles are common in the state’s bureaucratic machinery, often intended to ensure smooth transition and continuity in governance.
The new Chief Secretary, whose name has not yet been released, is expected to take charge on Friday, marking a new chapter in the state’s administration.
