Srinagar, Sept 23 — The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir remarked today that the historic removal of Article 370 has placed the Union Territory on the threshold of a fresh future. In a press briefing, the LG highlighted that the constitutional change paves the way for greater integration with the rest of India and promises accelerated socio‑economic progress.
He noted that the abrogation, enacted in August 2019, has already led to the extension of central laws and schemes to the region, fostering uniformity in governance. The official emphasized that the focus now shifts to implementing development projects, improving infrastructure, and creating employment opportunities for the local populace.
