The Jammu and Kashmir administration has constituted a committee to examine the career progression of employees under the Prime Minister's Package scheme.
The state government announced the formation of a high‑level panel tasked with reviewing the promotion and posting mechanisms for staff employed under the Prime Minister's Package (PM Package) scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
The panel, overseen by senior officials, will gather data on postings, promotions and salary increments and submit recommendations to the chief minister within a stipulated timeframe.
The initiative comes in response to concerns raised by employee unions and civil‑society groups about perceived stagnation and a lack of transparent criteria in the career advancement of PM Package personnel. Authorities said the review aims to ensure merit‑based progression and address systemic bottlenecks.
The committee is expected to consult department heads, HR officers and employee representatives before finalising its report, which will be made public and any policy changes implemented through the state’s administrative machinery.
