The Jammu and Kashmir administration has formed a committee to revise the recruitment rules for the Subordinate Accounts Service, aiming to update and streamline the hiring process.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir announced the creation of a high‑level committee to examine and amend the existing recruitment framework for the Subordinate Accounts Service. The move comes as part of a broader effort to bring transparency and efficiency to the state's civil service appointments.

The committee is expected to comprise senior bureaucrats, finance officials and subject‑matter experts who will review current guidelines, identify gaps and propose new criteria for eligibility, examination and selection. While the exact composition has not been disclosed, officials said the panel will draw on both administrative experience and best practices from other services.

The revised rules are slated to be drafted within the next few months, after which they will be placed before the state cabinet for approval. Stakeholders, including prospective candidates and training institutes, have been urged to await the final notification before making any recruitment‑related decisions.

By updating the recruitment process, the government aims to attract qualified talent, reduce procedural delays and ensure that the Subordinate Accounts Service can effectively support the state's financial management functions.
