The Jammu and Kashmir government has issued a circular mandating that the No‑Objection Certificate (NOC) for solvent‑order licences be processed within a 30‑day window from the date of submission. The move is intended to reduce delays that businesses have faced in obtaining the required clearances for handling and distributing industrial solvents.
Officials from the state’s Industries Department said the new timeline will apply to all fresh applications and will be monitored through an online tracking system. Applicants will be required to submit complete documentation, including safety and environmental compliance reports, to qualify for the expedited review.
The policy aims to boost industrial activity in the region by providing a predictable regulatory environment. Trade bodies welcomed the decision, noting that quicker NOC issuance can help small and medium enterprises meet production schedules and avoid costly downtime.
