The Election Commission has moved the polling dates for 19 local bodies in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, scheduling the first phase on September 9 and the second on September 11 to avoid clashes with Bhadvii Amavasya religious events.
The Election Commission of India announced a revision of the polling schedule for 19 local‑body constituencies in Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan. Originally, some of the bodies were set to vote on September 9, but the dates have been rearranged so that the first phase will be held on September 9 and the second phase on September 11.
The change was made to prevent any overlap with the Bhadvii Amavasya religious observances, which attract large gatherings in the region. Officials said the adjustment will help ensure voter safety and smooth conduct of the elections.
Election officials have urged voters to note the new dates and to participate in the polls as scheduled. Security and polling staff are being redeployed accordingly to manage the two‑day voting process.
