The Jharkhand High Court has stayed the state government's order to scrap the 11th to 13th rounds of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Food Safety Officer examinations.

The bench of the Jharkhand High Court issued an interim order on Wednesday, directing the state government to halt its decision to cancel the 11th, 12th and 13th rounds of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examinations as well as the Food Safety Officer (FSO) tests. The court noted that the cancellation could affect thousands of candidates who had already registered and paid fees for the exams.

In its order, the court directed the state administration to maintain the status quo on the scheduled examinations until further hearing. It also asked the government to submit a detailed justification for the cancellation, including any procedural lapses, within a stipulated time frame.

Legal experts said the stay reflects the judiciary’s role in safeguarding the rights of aspirants and ensuring that any policy change affecting large numbers of job seekers follows due process. The decision is expected to give candidates a temporary reprieve while the matter is examined in depth.
