The Jharkhand government has dismissed calls to cancel the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam, prompting students to pledge a more vigorous agitation.

The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, is a key pathway for many students seeking government jobs across India. In a recent statement, the Jharkhand government clarified that it will not postpone or cancel the upcoming CGL exam scheduled for the state.

The decision came after a wave of protests by students who argued that the exam was unfairly scheduled amid the ongoing pandemic and that it would disadvantage many aspirants. Despite the government's assurances that safety protocols would be followed, the student groups remain dissatisfied.

In response, student leaders have vowed to intensify their agitation, calling for a larger demonstration in Patna and other major cities. They demand a revised exam schedule that accommodates health concerns and logistical challenges.

Officials have warned that any further unrest could lead to stricter measures, while the Union Public Service Commission has reiterated that the exam will proceed as planned. The situation remains fluid as both sides prepare for the next phase of the dispute.
