The Hindi‑language thriller 'Sigma' earned approximately Rs 2.35 crore on its opening day, marking a strong start for newcomer Jason Sanjay.
The new Hindi thriller "Sigma" hit theatres across India on Friday, and its opening‑day gross was reported at Rs 2.35 crore, according to data from the Times of India. The film stars Jason Sanjay, who makes his acting debut in the lead role, and also features veteran actor Vijay Sethupathi in a supporting capacity.
Industry analysts note that a Rs 2.35 crore collection on day one places "Sigma" among the higher‑earning openings for debut‑lead films this year, especially given its modest promotional budget. The film’s distributor has rolled out a wide release in major multiplexes and single‑screen theatres, aiming to capitalize on word‑of‑mouth.
Box‑office trackers expect the film’s earnings to grow over the weekend if audience response remains positive, while critics have highlighted the film’s tight screenplay and Sanjay’s confident performance as key strengths.
