Jamui ZP chief and husband implicated in government land grab, says EOU

The Enforcement Operations Unit (EOU) has filed a case accusing the Zilla Parishad chief of Jamui district in Bihar and her husband of illegally acquiring government land. According to the charge sheet, the duo is alleged to have used their official positions to secure a parcel of state-owned land for personal benefit. The investigation, which began earlier this year, reportedly uncovered documents linking the officials to the transaction and identified discrepancies in the land records.

Local authorities have not disclosed the exact size of the land or the monetary value involved, citing ongoing legal procedures. The EOU, a specialized wing of the state’s anti-corruption machinery, said the case will be forwarded to the district court for trial. No comment has been received from the ZP chief or her husband as of now.

The development adds to a series of recent probes into alleged land irregularities by elected representatives across Bihar. Civil society groups have welcomed the move, urging swift justice to deter misuse of public office.
