Jammu Kashmir Govt Drops Charges Against Six PWD Engineers and Officials

The Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to close departmental proceedings against six Public Works Department engineers and officials, citing lack of evidence.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the closure of departmental proceedings against six engineers and officials of the Public Works Department (PWD). The decision was taken after a review of the case files, which revealed insufficient evidence to sustain the allegations. The closure means that the accused personnel will no longer face any disciplinary action or legal proceedings within the department.

The PWD, responsible for infrastructure development and maintenance across the state, had earlier initiated investigations into alleged irregularities involving the six personnel. However, the investigation did not uncover any concrete proof of misconduct. As a result, the government opted to drop the cases to prevent unwarranted penalties.

This move is expected to relieve the affected engineers and officials from the burden of ongoing scrutiny and allows the department to focus on its core responsibilities of public works and infrastructure projects across Jammu and Kashmir.
