The Jammu Kashmir Bank has cautioned its customers about fraudulent eKYC applications and links, urging them to verify authenticity before use.

The Jammu Kashmir Bank (JKB) has issued a formal warning to its customers regarding the proliferation of fake eKYC applications and malicious links that purport to be official. The bank’s notice, released on its official website and through SMS alerts, advises users to verify the authenticity of any eKYC request before providing personal details.

According to the bank, the counterfeit apps are designed to mimic the official JKB interface and may prompt users to download additional software or enter sensitive information. JKB recommends that customers download eKYC apps only from the official JKB mobile app store or the bank’s verified website.

Customers are urged to check the app’s developer name, review user ratings, and confirm that the app’s URL matches the bank’s official domain. The bank has also set up a dedicated helpline for reporting suspicious links and has pledged to investigate any reported incidents promptly.

JKB’s warning comes amid a growing number of cyber‑fraud cases across India, where fraudsters exploit the popularity of eKYC processes to steal financial information. The bank’s proactive stance aims to protect its clientele from potential data breaches and financial loss.
