Jammu Forest Department Reclaims 150 Kanal, Dismantles 20 Illegal Structures

The forest administration in Jammu announced that it has successfully reclaimed about 150 kanal of forest land that had been encroached upon over the years. As part of the operation, officials removed twenty structures that were identified as illegal constructions on the reclaimed area. The action was carried out by a team of forest officials and local police, who first issued notices to occupants before proceeding with demolition. Authorities said the reclaimed land will be restored to its natural state and monitored to prevent future encroachments. The department plans to strengthen surveillance and engage community groups to safeguard the forest belt surrounding the city.
