The Rajasthan Transport Department has issued directives to prosecute individuals who obtained government benefits using forged disability certificates and UDISE cards, and has asked regional offices for details of disabled staff.

The Transport Department of Rajasthan announced that it will take strict action against persons who have fraudulently claimed government benefits by presenting counterfeit disability certificates and UDISE cards. The directive, issued from the Jaipur headquarters, instructs officials to initiate legal proceedings as per existing regulations and to cancel any benefits that were improperly obtained.

According to the order, any individual found to have used a forged certificate will face penalties under the state's fraud and corruption statutes, and the department will coordinate with law‑enforcement agencies for investigations. Benefits that were disbursed on the basis of false documentation will be recovered.

In addition, the department has asked all its regional offices to submit a comprehensive list of employees classified as disabled, to verify authenticity and prevent further misuse. The data collection is intended to create a clear record and to ensure that genuine beneficiaries receive rightful support.

The move reflects growing concerns across state agencies about the exploitation of welfare schemes, and officials say regular audits and stricter verification will be reinforced to curb such malpractice.
