Jaipur authorities will phase out about 7,000 e‑rickshaws from the Parchote area to reduce traffic congestion, with QR codes becoming compulsory for operation from 19 October.

Jaipur municipal corporation announced that it will remove around 7,000 electric rickshaws from the Parchote area to ease traffic congestion.

Starting 19 October, all e‑rickshaws will be required to display a QR code; vehicles without the code will be prohibited from operating.

The city will be divided into seven zones, each with designated routes to streamline traffic flow.

Officials say the move aims to reduce congestion and improve safety for pedestrians and motorists.

The decision follows a study showing heavy traffic in Parchote due to the high density of rickshaws.
