Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group detained two individuals accused of registering as doctors using forged academic certificates; one of them, who only completed eighth grade, was operating a hospital in Ranivada.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan arrested two men in Jaipur on suspicion of masquerading as qualified doctors by submitting counterfeit educational documents. According to the police, the duo managed to get their names entered in the state medical register despite lacking legitimate degrees.
Investigators discovered that one of the accused had only completed eighth grade. Despite this, he was running a private hospital in the town of Ranivada, offering medical services that required a licensed physician.
Authorities said the fake credentials were used to attract patients and bill for treatments, violating both the Indian Medical Council Act and consumer protection laws. The SOG has forwarded the case to the district court for further prosecution.
The arrests highlight ongoing concerns about unqualified practitioners exploiting loopholes in the registration process, prompting calls for stricter verification of medical qualifications across the state.
