Under the new scheme, 20 wards will be reserved for Scheduled Castes, 6 for Scheduled Tribes, and 30 for Other Backward Classes. The remaining 94 wards will remain open for candidates from the general category.
In addition, 50 seats across the wards have been earmarked for women candidates, reinforcing the city’s commitment to gender inclusivity in local governance.
